Overview
Broockmann Water Advisory (BWA) was engaged by the Downer/BMD Joint Venture to provide project management services for the delivery of the electrical systems upgrade as part of the West Camden WWTP Project. This work involved the planning, design coordination, procurement, installation, and commissioning of complex electrical and control infrastructure within a highly regulated environment.
Scope of Engagement
BWA led the electrical delivery scope, providing hands-on leadership across:
- Project Management: Oversaw all stages of the electrical works, aligning scope, budget, and regulatory compliance with Sydney Water’s standards.
- Contract and Financial Management: Managed supplier and subcontractor contracts, enforced terms, tracked expenditures, and mitigated financial risks.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Directed and coordinated the work of electrical subcontractors, ensuring delivery of power systems, panels, and instrumentation to scope.
- Project Control and Scheduling: Maintained detailed construction schedules, mitigated potential delays, and coordinated supplier deliveries with construction activities.
- Risk Management: Proactively identified risks around electrical safety, logistics, and design interface—implementing mitigation strategies in collaboration with contractors and suppliers.
- Safety Management: Ensured compliance with Sydney Water’s and national WHS standards, monitored LOTO protocols, PPE usage, and conducted training for personnel and subcontractors.
